Interview mit Salene(Victoria Spence) auf Channel 5

Are you enjoying series 4 and if so, is it the best so far?
Salene: The storyline is getting better and better. Salene's character has grown. It has been a nice challenge to come back and fight with the rest of the Tribe.

Do you ever get recognised in the street and if so, what's it like?
Salene: Yes we do - not so much in New Zealand - but it's really flattering. Every now and then you get someone who gives you a bit of flack but generally people are lovely.

What do you hope to do after The Tribe?
Salene: I'll go back to school for my final year - then give acting my full attention.

Have you ever considered becoming a pop star?
Salene: You always have those dreams when you're young - but I enjoy acting a lot more.

What is your favourite type of music?
Salene: I have a real eclectic taste - pop, rock, R & B and rap. I don't like stuff where I can't hear the lyrics though.

Do you like London? What's your favourite thing about England?
Salene: I got here on Saturday for the first time - it's amazing! We went to Windsor on Sunday which was beautiful. I love London - it's so busy!

Do you have a boyfriend?
Salene: No not at the moment.

How old are you?
Salene: I'm 17. I turn 18 on 30th April

What's your favourite food?
Salene: Italian

Who do you most fancy in the whole world?
Salene: Johnny Depp

Do you do any sports?
Salene: I go horseriding, play netball and I'm into boxing and yoga,

Would you like to visit the moon?
Salene: Yes I suppose! - I'm a bit claustrophobic though.

Would you like to star in a film? if so, who with?
Salene: I'd love to, with Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt.

Is The Tribe ever going to be made into a film?
Salene: I really don't know. I reckon it'd be a cool idea.

Have you ever been out with another member of The Tribe cast?
Salene: No, we're not allowed to and we all know each other too well.

Are you artistic at all?
Salene: Well, other than acting, I love dancing and writing prose and poetry.

What was your first job?
Salene: I was 5 and I did a short story called the Joker

If you had to leave The Tribe, how would you like to see your character go?
Salene: I'd like to leave in a dramatic way, leaving in a way that gives me a chance to say good-bye to people

Would you like to be a model?
Salene: If I had the right look - it'd be quite hard but you'd get the cool clothes!

Interview mit Ebony (Meryl Cassie)

Hi Ebony, are you enjoying series 4 and do you think it's the best so far?
Ebony: I absolutely love it. It was also because there were a whole new bunch of cast members and it's always nice to experience a new kind of journey with new people, especially since I was working with my 2 sisters and we're really close. So we had a ball together. I think it's one of the best series we've done, the whole new story line has been creating a lot of attention for itself. It's lots of fun getting training for martial arts too.

Do you ever get recognised in the street and if so, what's it like?
Ebony: Yes I get recognised quite a bit actually. It's my braids I think. It's been good because everyone's been really positive about it and it's nice to see people enjoy what we do.

What do you hope to do after The Tribe?
Ebony: Well my dream is really to stay in the entertainment industry. I have a deep passion for singing, me and my sister do lots of singing together. My brother who is 20 composes all our music as well as playing piano. I also have another sister in the show who choreographs - she's more of the dancer in the group. Me and my older sister sing. it's definitely a family thing. I will hopefully star in movies too one day. I also love work with kids so I'll see how it goes.

Have you ever considered becoming a pop star?
Ebony: These days you think of pop stars as a one-hit wonder type of thing... so to be in a pop group I would like to do it more seriously because I love getting on stage and composing music.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
Ebony: I've met West Life before they made it big and Jay from Five before he made it big too. Also Atomic Kitten and The Venga Boys, who are really close family friends... I met Liv Tyler from Lord of the Rings too.

What is your favourite type of music?
Ebony: oooh, R+B. I love hip hop with R+B and with a bit of jazz too.

How did you get into acting?
Ebony: I wanted to act since I was really young. I auditioned through an agency for The Tribe - initially for the part of Salene but got the total opposite bad chick cow!

Do you like London? What's your favourite thing about England?
Ebony: I love it! It's so different from New Zealand. It's always great to experience something different. I have to admit I love the shopping and the whole style thing here. It's just so... the culture is so different. It's so packed though and so cold so I don't think I could live here. It's beautiful, we went to Windsor Castle the other day - that was great!

Do you have a boyfriend?
Ebony: At the moment, no. I've been single during the last series. It's hard to go out with someone and concentrate on working all the time. I've actually met a guy recently in Australia actually, he's really nice. We get on really well, he's maybe just a good friend though at the moment.

What's it like being on the tribe set? Is it exciting or boring?
Ebony: I love it. I deeply enjoy it, it's a pleasure to know I'm going to film and be a cow all day!! We all get on so well with the cast and crew too so it's great.

Have you ever had to do a kiss scene? if so, who with and what was it like?
Ebony: I've done lots of kissing scenes. It's like nothing really because you get used to it especially with 40 crew members watching. It used to be weird when I was 14 and wasn't used to the whole kissing thing anyway.

Are you anything like the character you play?
Ebony: I must admit I do have some similarities to Ebony. My mum said I have that bossiness just like Ebony. Some people say "you're just like Ebony with those attitudes!".

Where would you most like to go in the world and why?
Ebony: I would just love to travel the whole World and see everything. Life is too short so I'd love to catch as much as I can before I die. I'd like to check out Egypt because it's really different. Also places with lots of snow!

Do you use the Internet? If so, what's your favourite website?
Ebony: I'm not very good with computers. I do try though - I check my email!

Do you get much fan mail?
Ebony: Yes a hell of a lot. By email and letters and pressies and stuff like that. I try to keep my fans updated as often as possible.

How old are you?
Ebony: 17, nearly 18 in 2 months - I can't wait.

How long does it take to do your make-up?
Ebony: We're in the chair every morning for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Did you ever think the tribe was going to be this big?
Ebony: I always thought it had potential to go far because it's so different from the average TV programme. It also relates so much to what many young people think and feel ... like the whole world without adults theme.

Do you do any sports?
Ebony: Yes I love sports. I played professional Touch Rugby - there's no tackling, and only 6 touches before you have to hand the ball over. I made it into the Counties under 21's when I was 13... everyone else was between 18 and 21! They always called me the 'little nipper' because I could slip through those gaps. I'm also very into athletics, sprinting and hurdles.

Would you like to visit the moon!?
Ebony: It would be interesting but a scary thought not to be on Earth. I'd like the rocket ride though.

Is The Tribe ever going to be made into a film?
Ebony: I'm not too sure, it would be interesting. I see it continuing as a series for the time being.

Have you ever been out with another member of the tribe cast?
Ebony: No never

Do you have any pets?
Ebony: I did... I love dogs, I used to have 2 dogs. I'm now waiting to get my pet dolphin! [laughs]

Are you artistic at all?
Ebony: I can't draw, maybe a stick figure - I could do that. I love admiring other people's art though.

Would you consider yourself a spiritual person?
Ebony: Not to the extent of being spiritual in a nutty way. I believe in my own beliefs... I don't go for card reading and all that stuff, although I'm not against it. I believe in life and making the most out of it. Don't take anything for granted.

Interview mit Jack(Michael Wesley Smith)

Michael: Yes I am enjoying series 4. It is the best series so far - there's more action.

If you could write the story line for The Tribe, what would happen in the next series?
Michael: I'd get a hot girlfriend! In a perfect world!

What do you hope to do after The Tribe?
Michael: I'm in my 1st year at University. I don't want to have acting as my main career. I hope to do something on the medical line - I'm studying for a biomedical degree.

Michael: I can't dance, sing or play any musical instruments - so no!

Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
Michael: Ian McCellan and Jonah Lomu from the All Blacks

Do you have a girlfriend?
Michael: No... unfortunately

Have you ever had to do a kiss scene? if so, who with and what was it like?
Michael: I had to kiss Ellie in Tribe and Octavia in Atlantis High.

Are you anything like the character you play?
Michael: I'm more like Giles [from Atlantis High]. Jack and Giles are both geeky - but I don't think I am!

Where would you most like to go in the world and why?
Michael: Europe, Caribbean, Africa, South America.

Do you use the Internet? what's your fave website?
Michael: Yes I use the Internet quite a lot. I love football so I go
soccernet.com for all the results.

How old are you?
Michael: I'll be 18 in December.

Are you ever nervous doing a scene?
Michael: Yes, the kissing was hard, having to kiss in front of 50 people!

How long does it take to do your make-up?
Michael: It takes the girls 50 minutes. I'm low maintenance so it takes me about 10 minutes.

Do you get harassed by your friends for wearing make-up?
Michael: Just recently I did - not seriously though! I went to an all boys school where I did get some stick but I'm used to it!

Did you ever think The Tribe was going to be this big?
Michael: No, to tell you the truth I didn't think it was going to be as big as it is - it's a nice surprise.

What's your favourite food?
Michael: Roast chicken, roast lamb and lasagne!

Who do you most fancy in the whole world?
Michael: Kate Beckinsdale [from Pearl Harbour] and Britney Spears

Have you ever been out with another member of The Tribe cast?
Michael: No!

Do you have any pets?
Michael: a dog called 'Sonnie' and a cat that we call 'Cat'!

Do you like football?
Michael: Yes, I support Liverpool!

Do you like working in comedy?
Michael: I like it a lot - there's a lot more freedom. A bit of both is always good.

It must be fun working on the set of Atlantis High...
Michael: Awesome - I like the crew and cast.

Which do you enjoy the most? The Tribe or Atlantis High?
Michael: They're both very different. I like Atlantis High because the crew saw us more as adults.

Do you have an inner child?
Michael: yes, I'm a paranoid schizophrenic! No, not really!! I'm not really old enough yet - I'm still growing up!

Interview mit Lex(Caleb Ross)

Hi Lex, are you enjoying series 4? Is it the best so far?
Caleb: Yes series 4 was probably the best series and the most fun.

Do you ever get recognised in the street and if so, what's it like?
Caleb: Yep, occasionally... more so over here than back home. It's a bit funny because back home we don't really get it. It's nice that people enjoy the show though.

Have you ever considered becoming a pop star?
Caleb: I love music but not really the whole "pop star" thing - it's a bit fake if you ask me. I'm more of a musician; I play guitar, piano and drums and I sing as well, but I'm not in a band at the moment.

What is your favourite type of music?
Caleb: I don't really have a favourite. I was brought up with all styles by my family. Because I started my acting career in musical theatre this helped broaden my taste a lot... so i like all sorts.

Do you like London? What's your favourite thing about England?
Caleb: I do, I couldn't live here though. There are 3.8 million people back home in the whole country and 15 million here, so... too many people! I love the countryside though, maybe I could live there but not in London.

Do you have a girlfriend?
Caleb: No

Are you anything like Lex?
Caleb: Er.. no i don't think so - i hope not anyway! There's a little bit of me in there somewhere but not a lot.

Do you use the Internet? what's your fave website?
Caleb: Yes. No fave website, i use it for info + email.

Do you visit tribe fan sites?
Caleb: Yes i do - if people are going to put in the time to make stuff about us then i don't mind putting in the time to look.

Do you get much fan mail?
Caleb: We get a fair amount!

How old are you?
Caleb: 20.

How long does it take to do your make-up?
Caleb: The girls take 45mins, guys 25.

Do you get harassed by your friends for wearing make-up?
Caleb: Ha ha... no my friends are quite good about it actually.

Would you like to visit the Moon?
Caleb: Who thought of that question? Yes i'd give that a blast, it would be a good view at least - and fun!

Have you ever been out with another member of the tribe cast in real life?
Caleb: No, never.

Would you ever consider moving to Hollywood to find fame and fortune?
Caleb: I'd quite happily do movies there but i'm not sure about living there. I don't know if I'd like it but i've because I've never been there.

Did you pass all your exams at school?
Caleb: I did. I didn't manage to sit my finals because I was doing The Tribe. I was a year ahead anyway so everything turned out alright..

Do you read books or magazines?
Caleb: Yes I read a lot of books... I love reading a lot.

What's your favourite film ever?
Caleb: Well that's a hard one because i like different films for different reasons... like favourite comedy, favourite action... so i don't know, it's hard to say. It's hard to find a film that has everything.

Do you believe there is life elsewhere in the Universe?
Caleb: Yes! Another weird question! [laughs] We'd be stupid to think we were the only lifeform around.

Do you like clubbing?
Caleb: I go out occasionally and I enjoy it. I've been clubbing here in England, but we won't have time this time around.

What was your first job?
Caleb: Being a clown! For kids parties - not for a circus or anything like that. It was good fun.

Is there going to be another Tribe CD?
Caleb: I'm not sure.

Is The Tribe big in the U.S.?
Caleb: I think so, yes. We've not been there for promotion yet. Apparently they show it 24 hours a day and have a conference where people dress up like us - but i haven't really seen it.
